The chambers of commerce of the Visegrad Group countries (VB4) and Western Balkan Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) have signed today in Budapest a Joint Declaration, by which they advocate for the trade facilitation of companies from our region with the European Union by connecting the Western Balkan “green corridors” with the EU “green lanes”.
“We call for the governments of the Visegrad Group countries to support the easier movement of people, goods, services, and capital among the EU and WB countries”, said Marko Čadež, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and President of the WB6 CIF, at the meeting of the Managing Board of the joint chamber of the region, which was held after the meeting and signing of the Declaration with the chambers of commerce of the Visegrad Group four countries.
At the meeting of the WB CIF Managing Board, the six chambers of the region repeated their request to the European Union to enable the visa liberalization for citizens from Kosovo, because, as Čadež said, there was no economic growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises if people could not travel and make their business arrangements.
Through the Joint Declaration, the Chambers of Commerce of the Visegrad Group – Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, have provided their full support to the accession of the Western Balkan six economies to the European Union, as well as the integration of the regional economies into the single European market. Representatives of the ten chambers of commerce of VG4 and WB6 CIF have underscored the importance of the improvement of the business and investment climate and development of the private sector in the Western Balkans, emphasizing that the priority is sustainable economic growth, the digital and green transformation of the industry, and energy security in compliance with the EU Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.
