Within the framework of the wider presentation of Serbia at the prestigious Global exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai”, the Government of the Republic of Serbia will present for the first time selected start-ups from our countries at the GITEX Future Stars 2021 – the largest event dedicated to the development of start-up companies in the Near East region, North Africa and South Asia, which will be held in Dubai from 17 to 20 October. Start-ups will be provided with logistics support by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
Domestic companies that will present Serbia at the GITEX Future Stars are: Joberty Technologies, Kredium, White Lemur, Stock Studio, VizLore Digital Asset Management and Deep Blue Sea Studio. These selected companies are from the areas of social media, FinTech, artificial intelligence, environmental protection and corporate software.
The GITEX program includes numerous conferences and events that will bring together over 350 largest experts with whom representative of start-up companies will have the opportunity to develop their skills and to learn from the best ones. All start-ups can apply for “Supernova Challenge”, where the best one will be awarded with as much as USD 200,000.
The entire appearance of Serbia at GITEX will be under the brand Serbia Creates Tech.
“Taking into account that the largest global IT companies, investment funds, and investors traditionally confirm their participation in this global event, as well as that organizers announce that this event will bring together more than 750 start-ups from 75 countries that will present themselves before 400 VC funds and investors from more than 30 countries, the appearance of Serbian companies at GFS and GITEX is considered to be an investment in the development of domestic start-up scene”, Ana Ilić, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Deputy Commissioner General of Serbia for “Expo 2020 Dubai”, underscores.

GITEX Future Stars is an excellent opportunity for perspective start-ups from Serbia to take advantage of serious business opportunities in the large market. By meeting other founders of companies, potential investors and most influential experts in this field worldwide, I am convinced that it will bring Serbia new ideas and investments, and that it will provide essential contacts for itself for further development of its start-up”, Ilić highlights.
Based on the public call for start-ups from Serbia, the applications were evaluated by using the precise methodology in order to impartially select best representatives from our country, taking into account the quality of ideas, development level of a company, team preparedness, and market adjustment. The five-member jury comprised reputable experts from the investment funds of the Near East region, Investment fund of Telekom, Digital Serbia Initiative, Artificial Intelligence Institute, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, and the Prime Minister’s Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
This year’s GITEX FUTURE STARS 2021 will be particularly visited, because it will be held during the Global exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” under the motto: “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. The main events regarding the presentation of our country will be organized at the National Pavilion of Serbia covering an area of 2,000 square metres, which will be located within the Mobility theme.
The topic of the appearance of the Republic of Serbia at the Global exhibition is “Serbia Creates Ideas - Inspired by the Past, Shaping the Future. The National Pavilion of Serbia is designed as a kind of time capsule connecting the legacy of Vinča culture with digitally advanced and modern Serbia, with the aim to present innovations, technological and scientific achievements, business and investment opportunities. The Pavilion will be fully digitalized and will provide a virtual tour both through different realities, time periods and different spaces.
