Beginning of June, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia will host Serbia-India Business Forum where more than 100 representatives of companies from Serbia and 24 international companies from India are expected to participate, it was agreed at a meeting between Marko Čadež, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, and Sanjiv Kohli, the Ambassador of India to Serbia.
Companies from the IT and defense industry sectors of India, the agro-food sector, the automotive industry, energy, construction, and infrastructure are expected to visit Serbia.
According to Čadež, the visit of the Indian delegation will be significant because it will enable domestic companies to launch new business projects in the large Indian market. "Serbia can be an excellent business partner for India in numerous areas, from the IT sector to energy, as well as a bridge to Europe for Indian companies," Čadež said.
According to Ambassador Kohli, the business forum in Belgrade will be an excellent opportunity for Indian and Serbian businessmen to renew old and establish new business ties.
Foreign trade exchange between Serbia and India in 2022 amounted to 326.9 million dollars. Exports to India reached 18 million dollars, while imports amounted to 308.9 million dollars.
India is the world's fourth-largest agricultural power, and the world's third-largest coal producer, and its fast-growing IT sector is fueling service exports and modernizing India's economy.
