Israeli companies should take advantages of the potentials offered by a Representative Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Jerusalem, and work together with Serbian businesspeople on development of trade cooperation and strengthening of economies ties of the two countries, particularly in the area of innovations, said Marko Čadež, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, being a guest on Israeli TV channel “i24 News“, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the CCIS Representative Office in Jerusalem.
Čadež highlighted that Serbia was one of the first European countries that opened its representative office in Jerusalem for development of trade and economic cooperation between two countries.
“We have wanted to open our representative office in Israel for a long time, because Serbia has been increasingly recognized in the world as an innovative economy in the Western Balkans and Central and Eastern Europe”, said Čadež.
Emphasizing the cooperation potential of the two countries, primarily in the area of innovations and advanced technology, Čadež has stated that 100,000 people in Serbia work in the ICT sector with an annual growth of 26 percent, as well as that our country is one of few in the world where the programming is the subject taught from fourth to eighth grade in elementary schools.
“Israel and Serbia have had a long-lasting and strong friendship. We want to work with Israel on innovations, because it is the best policy for the future both for Israeli and Serbian people”, said Čadež.
The CCIS President said that Serbia could learn a lot from Israel that had developed infrastructure in order to support the development of innovations in its country. As a result, there is a community of young enterprises in Israel that cooperates with multinational companies in developing their business operations and innovative solutions.
