Turkish Companies interested in investing in Serbia

Turkish companies are interested in investing and cooperating with companies from Serbia, it was pointed out at the meeting of Mihailo Vesović, Director for Internationalization of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, and the representatives of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry.

Nine Turkish companies from the lighting equipment sector were presented with all aspects of doing business and investing in Serbia. Representatives of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry stated that prospects of investing in Serbia are very interesting and invited Serbian companies to visit Istanbul in the upcoming period.  
The Istanbul Chamber of Industry is the largest chamber of commerce in Turkey with the largest number of member companies. Turkey is one of the most important economic partners in Serbia, both on the bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as within the framework of regional cooperation.
The total foreign trade exchange with Turkey reached almost 2.5 billion euros last year. During 2022, our exports reached 434.2 million euros, which is an increase of 49.9 percent compared to 2021. Last year, imports from Turkey exceeded one billion euros, with an increase of 40.2 percent compared to 2021. The Coverage Ratio was 21.5 percent, for the relevant period.
According to the data of the Republic Statistical Office (RZS), Turkey ranks 6th in Serbia's imports and 21st in Serbia’s exports.
