The countries gathered in the Non-Aligned Movement have great economic potential, both six decades ago, as well as today. They represent an excellent opportunity for the Serbian economy to renew its former dominant positions in these large markets, in sectors such as construction, agriculture and infrastructure, but also in IT and modern technology sectors. Among the members of the movement are financially powerful countries and potential investors in the Serbian economy. This is the message from today's Business Forum held on the margines of the jubilee gathering on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade.
"Traditionally, good relations between the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement are the basis for further strenghtening of the economies, provide space for a more balanced economic growth and development at the global level, as well as for the reduction of existing socio-economic differences. At the same time, they provide an opportunity for a united fight to mitigate the negative effects of climate change, which is, certainly, one of the most important tasks in the world today. Countries were not joining the Movement solely based on the political and economic plan, but also in order to strenghten their cooperation in the field of investments, education, tourism, health and culture, said Tatjana Matic, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, at the openning of the Forum.
"Continuing the policy of mutual respect and friendship, Serbia today is a link between East and West, a country that treats its economic partners equally, and strives to contribute with all its capacities to global prosperity and peace, in the challenging circumstances of the modern world. "We are extremely proud that together with Azerbaijan, as the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, we managed to organize this unique and important gathering, which brought together a large number of world statesmen despite the generally known aggravating circumstances," the minister pointed out.
The Business Forum, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, is an opportunity for our businessmen to be once again reminded about the importance of non-European markets and the placement of domestic industry products, knowledge and technology transfer in industry and construction, especially in IT sector, because many countries from the Non- Aligned Movement are at the beginning of the digitalization process, said Bojan Stanić, Assistant Director at the Sector for Strategic Analysis and Internationalization of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. According to him, the summit is an opportunity for members of the Non-Aligned Movement to be informed about the economic potential of Serbia, as an economic leader in the Western Balkans region, because the Movement is largely made up of countries with large population and with high growth rates.
„ One should have in mind that the Non-Aligned Market is now characterized by relatively high competition in which large world economies compete, among the members of the Movement are financially very powerful countries, primarily from the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and these countries can be seen as potential investment partners in Serbia", added Stanic, who presented the economy and investment opportunities of Serbia to the business representatives of more than 100 delegations that participated at the Non-Aligned Movement gathering.
Nemanja Jevtovic from the Development Agency of Serbia also spoke about the investment potential of Serbia, pointing out the possibilities of investing in Serbia, especially in the sector of agriculture, tourism, automotive industry and real estate sector.
Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the IT Office of the Republic of Serbia, presented the experience of Serbia in the construction of digital infrastructure with a focus on the development of artificial intelligence and broadband internet.
After the Plenary part of the Business Forum, a panel on logistics and global supply chains in the post-pandemic world and b2b meetings followed. The participants of the forum agree that the economies of Serbia and the Western Balkans represent an unavoidable space for connecting the European economy with the Middle East, Asia and Africa ...
