“Signing the Memorandum between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates on unobstructed and free travel for vaccinated citizens is a significant benefit and an encouraging signal for business people and investors not only from Serbia but also from the United Arab Emirates because it enables further development of business connections regardless of the pandemic”, points out Marko Selaković, the Head of the Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Dubai.
“The Memorandum is also the best recognition for all Serbia's efforts to make vaccination as successful as possible. The fact that Serbia is the first European country with which the Emirates have established such a corridor is an indicator of the great trust that the UAE has in Serbia, as well as the sign of their decision to further build partnership relations between the two countries”, emphasises Marko Selaković and reminds us that the Memorandum has been signed by Tatjana Matić, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and by Reem Ebrahim Al-Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the UEA, in an effort to sign the memorandum in the shortest possible time.
According to the signed agreement, which entered into force on 15th May, the quarantine is cancelled for all citizens who travel from one country to the other and who have passed the complete vaccination process. Quarantine measures will not apply to travellers with official vaccination certificates issued by one or by the other country. Citizens who have completed the vaccination process in Serbia can download their digital green certificates, that is, the certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 on the e-Government portal, while the UAE residents can get their certificates by means of the Al Hosn mobile application. In the same way, citizens will be able to show the results of their PCR tests when travelling from one country to the other.
