Šumadija is a New Destination for Digital Nomads

Sumadija is recognized as a new destination for digital nomads and a region with a rich tourist offer, which is confirmed by more and more "world travelers", interested in getting to know this destination which offers excellent conditions for work and rest. This region was presented at the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai at the Serbian Pavilion by students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) from Belgrade through the project "Work from Home" Hub. The Presentation attracted a large number of tourism representatives from different countries and IT representatives.

“We wanted to present Šumadija and Topola as places of rich history and culture to people who in new circumstances, due to the pandemic, work a lot from home or like to spend time in nature and experience something new. We have promoted modern hubs and workspaces, but also new experiences that the tourist potential of this region offers ", says Nikola Bunjević, Vice President for External Relations, Case Study Club at FON.

Tijana Maljković, Secretary of the Association for Tourism at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) said that the World Exhibition was an opportunity for the tourism industry to explain, through various pictures and languages man's need for cooperation, connection, and discovery of new interesting things and adventures.

She reminded that at the Serbian Pavilion and CCIS Business Hub, representatives of the Serbian tourism industry had successful business talks with companies from more than 20 countries from five continents, including Malaysia, Oman, Hungary, Zimbabwe, Iran, UAE, Argentina, and others.  Serbian businessmen were presented with tourist offers of these exotic countries. " They discussed possible cooperation and joint projects in the promotion and organization of fair events, winter and summer tourism, and also the use of software and other smart solutions that can be used in the tourism and mobility sector", said Maljkovic and reminded that the Protocol on Cooperation of Hotel Associations in the Balkans was signed.
