Serbian companies presented their products at the 29th Edition of the "Gulfood" Fair,&nbsp; held at the World Trade Center in Dubai, which hosted more than 5,500 exhibitors from 190 countries.
With more than 2,200 meetings held at the National Pavilion of Serbia, preliminary results show that Serbian companies achieved&nbsp;eight signed preliminary agreements and contracts and new export deals worth over 11 million euros.
 
The most interested potential business partners whom the Serbian businessmen had meetings with were from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, China, Egypt, Lebanon, South Africa, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan...

Success of Serbian Food Sector at Gulfood Fair 2024 in Dubai

Serbia wants a world in which countries cooperate rather than quarrel and engage in conflict, said Marko Čadež, President of the&nbsp; Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia&nbsp;(CCIS), who today welcomed the international “Tracks to the Future” delegation at Prokop railway station in Belgrade. The delegation is undertaking an 18-day train journey from Duisburg, Germany, to Xi’an, China, connecting European and Asian centres of business, politics, science and culture.<div class="article-photo"><img src="https://en-api.pks.rs/storage/assets/DAK_0069_960x640.jfif" id="image-tag-1792574139391" data-image-alignment="article-photo" data-image-size-id="original" data-asset-id="2472"></div>
According to Čadež, the visit is an opportunity to showcase Serbia’s economy to international investors and establish new business contacts with representatives of European and Asian political, business and academic communities.

Čadež described the delegation’s arrival as an important opportunity to engage with prominent representatives of international politics, diplomacy and business, particularly at a time of growing global divisions.
“For us, this is also an opportunity to talk to truly remarkable people you have brought with you&mdash;a delegation of former statesmen, diplomats and business leaders, people who make decisions in an increasingly divided world,” Čadež said.

This is of crucial importance to us. Today, we have an opportunity to show them what we are capable of,” the CCIS president emphasised.
During their visit to Serbia, the delegation will visit MINT in Šabac to learn about the company’s production capacities. Meetings with representatives of the Serbian business community are also planned.
“Most of these people have not invested in this region before&mdash;not just in Serbia&mdash;and that represents a major opportunity for us,” Čadež said.
Jovanka Porsche thanked her hosts for the warm welcome, noting that openness, diversity and connectivity are values that link Belgrade with the goals of the “Tracks to the Future” initiative.
“Belgrade has always been a symbol of diversity, openness and connectivity, and these are also the values we stand for,” Porsche said.
She described Serbia’s economic development as remarkable and said that EXPO 2027 demonstrates Belgrade’s openness and significance. She added that the delegation’s visit to Serbia was also important because they wanted to show that Europe is much more than the European Union.
“We are very much looking forward to this visit, and we hope that we will be able to build cooperation&mdash;not just cooperation, but a lasting friendship based on trust and mutual respect,” Porsche emphasised.
Speaking about the composition of the delegation, she said they had brought scientists, entrepreneurs, politicians, artists and representatives of the cultural sector to Serbia. Particular emphasis was placed on inviting entrepreneurs willing to invest in start-ups and medium-sized enterprises and capable of making business decisions quickly.

The “Tracks to the Future” initiative, launched by Global Neighbours, is conceived as a “forum on rails” that connects European and Asian centres of business, politics, science and culture during an 18-day train journey from Duisburg, Germany, to Xi’an, China. The journey runs from 18 October to 4 November this year and includes high-level discussions, business meetings and visits to technology and infrastructure projects.

Čadež: Serbia Wants a World of Cooperation, Not Conflict

The production and export potential of Serbia’s food industry is being showcased at SIAL 2026, the international food exhibition taking place in Paris from 17 to 21 October. Organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia&nbsp;(CCIS) and the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), the Serbian national pavilion features 35 domestic companies exhibiting across two dedicated exhibition spaces, with the aim of expanding exports, establishing new business partnerships and strengthening the presence of Serbian products on international markets.<div class="article-photo"><img src="https://en-api.pks.rs/storage/assets/IMG_4012_960x720.jfif" id="image-tag-1792406113457" data-image-alignment="article-photo" data-image-size-id="original" data-asset-id="2466"></div>
“Participation in SIAL represents an important opportunity for Serbian producers to present their products to international buyers, importers and distributors, establish new business contacts and create opportunities for export growth. The diversity and quality of our companies’ offerings, together with their ability to meet the demands of international markets, represent significant potential for the further development of Serbia’s food industry,” said Zorana Delić of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
The production and export offerings of Serbian companies are presented in two thematic sections across Serbia’s two national pavilions: one in the hall dedicated to finished products and the other in the hall specialising in frozen products.

The diverse range of Serbian products includes, above all, frozen fruit and vegetables, frozen cakes and pastries, low-calorie jams, fruit spreads made from 100% fruit, organic products, juices, honey, dried and chocolate-coated fruit, and confectionery products such as chocolate, wafers, cocoa-based spreads and biscuits. The offering also includes ready-made soups, popcorn, dried spices, pasta, noodles, rennet and starter cultures. This broad selection is expected to attract a large number of visitors, buyers and business partners.
With a history spanning more than 60 years, SIAL is one of the leading international business platforms for the food industry. During the exhibition, producers and exporters negotiate future business deals with retailers, buyers, importers, distributors, experts from the world’s largest retail chains and representatives of the HoReCa sector. 35 Serbian Companies at SIAL Paris

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce hosted a professional seminar entitled “Israel’s Metal Industry – Opportunities and Prospects for Cooperation”, dedicated to presenting the potential of the Israeli metal and machinery markets, the business environment, and opportunities to establish and strengthen cooperation between Serbian and Israeli companies.
Đorđe Živanović, Advisor to the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of familiarizing domestic businesses with the characteristics and needs of the Israeli market, as well as with opportunities to develop business ties in the metal and machinery industries.
Esther Grimberg, Head of the Construction Department at the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, presented prospects for cooperation, noting that Israel relies heavily on imports of construction materials and equipment. Market demand is particularly strong in residential construction and infrastructure development. She also pointed out that access to the Israeli market depends on compliance with applicable product standards, certification requirements, and conditions governing product use. David Zeltser, Managing Director of D.A.N. Steel Trading Ltd, also spoke about Israel’s metal and machinery industries, major projects, market needs, current challenges, and practical business experience, addressing participants online. Aleksandar Nikolić, Director of the Representative Office of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Jerusalem and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in the State of Israel, drew on his decades of business experience in the Israeli market and cooperation with numerous Serbian companies to discuss the specific characteristics of doing business in Israel and opportunities to develop cooperation in the metal industry. He emphasized the importance of innovation in enhancing competitiveness and opening up new business opportunities.
Of particular significance is Israel’s decision to abolish customs duties on imports from around the world for a large number of tariff codes relevant to this sector. The measure aims to tackle Israel's high cost of living by increasing competition and creating favourable conditions for potential Serbian exporters, Nikolić pointed out.

New Opportunities for Cooperation with Israel in the Metal Industry Sector

The fifth international Wine, Rakia, Food and Tourism Fair, Wine Vision by Open Balkan, brought together more than 550 exhibitors from over 30 countries and 275 professional buyers from 48 countries in Belgrade, reaffirming the region’s growing presence on the international wine and gastronomy scene. Under the slogan “One Place. The Whole World”, the fair facilitated thousands of business meetings in a dedicated B2B zone and at exhibitors’ stands, opening up new opportunities for exports, business networking and cooperation with partners from around the world.<div class="article-photo"><img src="https://en-api.pks.rs/storage/assets/DSC06618.jpg" id="image-tag-1791882396272" data-image-alignment="article-photo" data-image-size-id="original" data-asset-id="2458"></div>
Aleksandar Radovanović, Head of the Regional Cooperation Centre at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), said this year’s fair had confirmed its international significance, with a substantial increase in the number of buyers compared with last year.
“We succeeded in attracting a large number of buyers and arranging meetings with leading winemakers and distilleries from across the region. Several thousand business meetings were held, both in the B2B zone and at exhibitors’ stands. Feedback from both sides has been positive, and our exhibitors particularly praised the quality of the buyers,” Radovanović said.He noted that buyers from Sweden and South Korea had shown particular interest this year, while buyers from Moldova, South Africa and Kazakhstan attended the fair for the first time.
“We expect a large number of business deals to be concluded as a result of this year’s fair. This is also reflected in the feedback from our exhibitors, who gave the quality of the meetings an average rating of 4.75 out of 5,” Radovanović emphasised.<div class="article-photo"><img src="https://en-api.pks.rs/storage/assets/1012 (2)(2).jpg" id="image-tag-1791882411506" data-image-alignment="article-photo" data-image-size-id="original" data-asset-id="2454"></div>
Luka Bogdanović, owner of De Wine, a company from Montenegro, also confirmed that the fair was an important platform for regional networking and the development of wine culture. He particularly highlighted the importance of B2B meetings in establishing new business contacts.
“Over the course of two days, we held around 15 meetings, and I also took the opportunity to visit exhibitors’ stands and explore the range of wines offered by Serbian wineries, including some of the best-known names, such as Šapat, Aleksandrović, Kovačević, Zvonko Bogdan and Matalj,” Bogdanović said.
He added that he also organises the De Wine Fest wine festival in Bar, which attracts winemakers from Serbia, and stressed the importance of fostering connections between wine events across the region.

Nadir Aksanbayev of Monta Bianca, a wine-importing company from Kazakhstan, also left the fair with a positive impression, praising the high standard of organisation and the large number of business contacts made.
“I come from Kazakhstan and represent Monta Bianca, a wine-importing company. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the high standard of organisation, comparable to exhibitions and events I have attended in Western European countries. “First and foremost, I would like to commend the organisation of Wine Vision by Open Balkan. This is our fifth consecutive year here, and we are delighted to be part of this event. I hope the fair will continue to be held in the years to come. Semih Arif Ozdemir, owner of Agora Mediterranean Kitchen in Florida, USA, also sees potential for Serbian wines and other alcoholic beverages in the American market. He visited Belgrade and Serbia for the first time.
“This could be a good starting point for me and my business partners to import a wider range of Serbian products, primarily wine and rakia, but also other spirits and even beer. Today, I visited numerous stands and had the opportunity to discover the quality and diversity of the products on offer, which truly impressed me,” Ozdemir said.
He added that he was impressed by the fair’s extensive range of products and the number of exhibitors, emphasising the significant potential for importing Serbian beverages into the United States.

Regional Wines and Spirits in the Global Spotlight

Serbia and Latvia have significant potential to enhance economic cooperation, not only in traditional sectors but also in information technology, artificial intelligence development and digitalisation. Concrete opportunities for connecting the business communities of the two countries, including B2B meetings at GITEX AI Belgrade and within the framework of the specialised EXPO 2027 exhibition, were discussed by Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), and Aigars Rostovskis, President of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce emphasised that GITEX AI Belgrade will be the most important technology event held in Belgrade next year, bringing together companies from around the world. This represents an excellent opportunity to showcase innovative companies from Serbia and Latvia, foster connections between them and establish partnerships with companies from across the globe.
He proposed organising a presentation for Latvian companies by the end of the year, in cooperation with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to familiarise them with the opportunities to participate in the event, which will take place from 25 to 27 May 2027.
Čadež also highlighted the importance of organising B2B meetings between Serbian and Latvian companies during the gathering of European chambers of commerce in Belgrade in May, as well as the opportunities for business networking within the Serbian pavilion at the specialised EXPO 2027 exhibition.
He stressed that cooperation within Eurochambres, the European network of chambers of commerce, could facilitate the exchange of business contacts, encourage greater integration of companies into European business networks and open up new markets.
Rostovskis emphasised that economic growth is one of the key priorities for Latvia’s economy and that international business events provide companies with an opportunity to meet potential partners in person and explore opportunities for cooperation. As an example, he cited a recent visit to Valencia, which was attended by representatives of companies alongside representatives of the chamber of commerce.
According to data for the first six months of 2026, trade between Serbia and Latvia amounted to €19.5 million. During this period, Serbia exported goods worth €11.3 million, while imports from Latvia totalled €8.2 million.
In addition to IT services, artificial intelligence and digitalisation, there is also potential to expand cooperation in construction, machinery and electronic equipment, food production and processing, animal feed and other industrial sectors.

GITEX AI Belgrade and EXPO 2027: Opportunities to Strengthen Cooperation Between Serbian and Latvian Companies

The best wines of this year’s regional Open Balkan Wine Trophy competition were announced today at the Belgrade Fair, as part of the fifth edition of the international Wine Vision by Open Balkan fair. With more than 800 wine samples submitted, the jury awarded trophies in nine categories.
A jury of 25 renowned wine experts from around the world assessed the wines' quality. The panel included five holders of the prestigious Master of Wine title and one Master Sommelier, further confirming the competition’s international credibility.
Igor Luković, Open Balkan Wine Trophy judging coordinator and Wine Vision 2026 Programme Director, thanked all winemakers, oenologists, cellar masters and winegrowers for the outstanding work they continue to do year after year.
“Special thanks for your trust and for submitting such a large number of samples for this year’s judging. A total of 800 different wines were presented to our jury. This year, the panel, comprising distinguished experts from as many as 18 countries, awarded higher average scores than ever before. Our local and indigenous grape varieties are absolutely on a par, in terms of scores, with international stars such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. The discussion is no longer solely about grape varieties, but also about terroir and its authentic expression. Today, we can clearly recognise outstanding wines and their distinctive characteristics from the wine regions of Albania, Povardarie, Župa, Negotinska Krajina and Fruška Gora. We know where and how these wines are made, confirming that together we are growing into a significant European and regional wine powerhouse,” said Igor Luković.
The jury was chaired by Caroline Gilby MW, one of the leading international experts on wines from the Balkans and Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, particularly renowned for her work and expertise in the wine regions of the Balkans.
“It is a great honour to chair the Open Balkan Wine Trophy jury. I have been following this fair for five years, and the wines get better, more mature and more interesting every year. Congratulations to all the wineries that received awards. I am particularly pleased that this year’s top award winners reflect an excellent balance: prestigious medals have been won by both large wineries and small family-owned wineries that are developing, learning and raising standards. This is the clearest sign of a healthy and dynamic wine industry in the region. I fully support the message that the strength of this region lies in its local and indigenous grape varieties, as well as in its terroir &mdash; the unique expression of the land and the human story behind every bottle. Winemaking technology and expertise in cellars have become more sophisticated, allowing the character of the terroir and the winemaker’s vision to be fully expressed in the glass. The jury also included Rod Smith MW, Chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine; Peter Moser, former editor of the renowned Austrian wine magazine Falstaff; and Beth Willard, an international wine expert, critic and author, and one of the five principal Co-Chairs of the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards.
The Open Balkan Wine Trophy is a regional competition designed in accordance with the standards of the world’s leading wine competitions. Wines were assessed through a panel-based system, following a strictly defined methodology and blind-tasting procedures, ensuring that medals and trophies were awarded solely on the basis of each sample’s quality, authenticity and style. The official Wine Vision judging model is based on systems and standards applied at leading international wine competitions.

This year’s Open Balkan Wine Trophy brought together wines of diverse styles and origins, while the international composition of the jury provided an opportunity to assess the quality of the regional wine scene from the perspective of experts with experience in the world’s most important wine markets and competitions.
The trophy ceremony marked the conclusion of this year’s Open Balkan Wine Trophy, once again confirming that the region produces wines capable of competing on equal terms before an international audience of wine professionals.

Winners of the Open Balkan Wine Trophy 2026 Announced

The best rakijas at this year’s Rakija Trophy competition were announced today as part of the fifth edition of the international Wine Vision by Open Balkan fair. Competing against approximately 130 entries submitted by more than 60 producers from Serbia and the region, the expert jury selected the best rakijas across this year’s competition categories.
This year, the quality of the rakijas was assessed by an international jury of 15 members, working in three panels and comprising seven international and eight domestic judges. The international panel brought together experts from Belgium, France, Germany, Croatia, North Macedonia and Bulgaria, giving this year’s evaluation an international dimension.
The competition was organised by the Serbian Rakija Producers Association, with the aim of recognising and promoting the quality of fruit spirits from Serbia and the surrounding region, while further encouraging the development of rakija as a product with a distinct identity, strong premium potential and growing visibility on international markets.
During the evaluation, the rakijas were divided into three panels, with each entry assessed according to predefined quality criteria.
“The transformation and progress of rakija over the past three years have been truly phenomenal. At the global Spirits Selection by CMB competition, Serbia has gone in just three years from submitting a handful of entries to presenting more than 100 labels, becoming the fifth most represented market at this international spirits competition.
Šljivovica (plum brandy), travarica (herbal brandy) and klekovača (juniper brandy) are no longer unfamiliar local drinks on the global map; they have secured their own official categories and recognition. When outstanding quality and craftsmanship underpin an entire region, this is no longer marketing but authentic cultural heritage that the world is seeking. The number of producers and entries submitted this year demonstrates the breadth and diversity of rakija available on the domestic market, while the participation of international judges ensured that the quality of the spirits was also assessed from the perspective of experts from various European markets.
“Rakija holds a special place in our tradition and is an inseparable part of our cultural heritage, which we must preserve, nurture and promote to the highest standards. Behind every bottle of quality rakija are the knowledge, experience, dedication and tremendous effort of its producer. This competition is an important opportunity not only to reward outstanding quality but also to encourage producers to continuously improve their production standards,” said Aleksandar Janjić, Director of the Serbian Rakija Producers Association.
Janjić added that the Association’s goal is to preserve tradition through events of this kind, promote high standards and contribute to the stronger positioning of Serbian rakija on both domestic and international markets.
“I believe that by working together, we can raise quality standards and make our rakija even more recognisable around the world,” Janjić said.
Rakija is deeply rooted in the culture of Serbia and the Balkans, but its contemporary development increasingly involves precise raw-material selection, control of the distillation process, ageing, brand development and carefully planned product positioning.
The award-winning rakijas gain visibility among industry professionals, visitors, distributors and potential buyers, while producers have the opportunity to highlight the quality of their products through medals and trophies.

Winners of Rakija Trophy 2026 Announced

The fifth anniversary edition of Wine Vision by Open Balkan, an international wine, rakija, food and tourism fair, officially opened today at the Belgrade Fair with a ceremonial opening ceremony. Under the slogan “One Place. The Whole World,” Wine Vision brings together wine, rakija and food producers, distributors, hoteliers, professional buyers, experts and visitors from Serbia, the region and numerous countries around the world over three days.
More than 550 exhibitors from over 30 countries are presenting their products at this year’s fair, alongside professional buyers and traders from 45 countries. More than 2,000 pre-arranged business meetings are expected to take place during the event.

“I remember five years ago, when the leaders of Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia decided to launch an initiative such as Wine Vision by Open Balkan. We created a place where our region could present itself to the world together for the first time,” said Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, at the opening ceremony.
Čadež emphasized that Wine Vision by Open Balkan had brought the region together around what connects people and nations: wine, rakija and food.
“The fifth edition of the fair has shown that we can jointly organize one of Europe’s largest wine, rakija and food fairs. And that means we can achieve much more,” Čadež stressed.
According to him, Wine Vision by Open Balkan now provides an opportunity for the region to present itself to the international business community.
“In the past, we had to go out into the world to prove ourselves. Today, the world is coming to us, to our region, to discover the very best we have to offer,” Čadež said.

Igor Luković, Programme Director of Wine Vision by Open Balkan, noted that the fair brings together products, people and stories that reflect the character of a country.
“I often point out that we can no longer grow in quantitative terms, because physical space has its limits, but we can and must grow in quality. And I believe that is exactly what we are doing. We are growing in quality not only thanks to exhibitors, experts, guests and buyers from around the world, as well as the most prominent wine houses, but also with every bottle, every wine and every new vine planted in Serbia and throughout the Balkans.
“That is precisely why Wine Vision by Open Balkan exists: not simply to socialize and enjoy wine, but above all to learn, exchange knowledge and build serious business,” Luković said.
<h2>Leading International Experts Meet Their Audience</h2>
This year’s professional programme brings some of the most prominent figures in the contemporary wine world to Belgrade. Among the guests is James Suckling, one of today’s most influential wine critics and a former editor of Wine Spectator magazine. Together with vineyard expert Marco Simonit, he will discuss vine longevity and vineyard management. Suckling will also lead a masterclass on whole-bunch fermentation with Romain Bouchot.
“It is a great pleasure to be here. First of all, I would like to thank the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to speak and conduct masterclasses during today’s and tomorrow’s fair.

“My journey through the Balkans began in Slovenia, as I spend part of the year living in Italy, very close to the border. As for Serbia, I have been following its wine scene for around four years, and for the past two years I have been actively evaluating local wines.
“I have been genuinely impressed by their quality. It was almost unbelievable to see such a high standard in a country of this size. That is why I felt the need to come in person, visit the vineyards and meet the people behind these wines,” James Suckling said.
Visitors will have the opportunity to attend 17 masterclasses dedicated to wine and rakija, featuring 22 speakers from 14 countries. Participants include Caroline Gilby, Rod Smith, Thomas Curtius and other recognized experts. Topics range from award-winning Serbian wines and Serbian sparkling wines to Tokaj, Georgia, Istria, Sardinia, North Macedonia, Albania and contemporary Spain.
A particular highlight is the masterclass entitled “What Makes a Great Wine? Seven Masters, Seven Perspectives,” where six experts holding the title of Master of Wine and one Master Sommelier will discuss the origins, complexity, balance, longevity and emotion that make a wine truly great.
<h2>More Than 800 Wines Before an International Jury</h2>
International wine competitions are an important part of Wine Vision. This year, more than 800 wines are competing in the Open Balkan Wine Trophy, judged by 26 experts from 18 countries, including six holders of the prestigious Master of Wine title.
The judging focuses on quality and authenticity, as well as grape varieties, terroir and winemaking ideas shaping the contemporary Balkan wine scene.
Rakija also has a special place at the fair. As part of the Open Balkan Rakija Trophy, spirits are evaluated by international experts associated with the Spirits Selection by CMB competition. Meanwhile, a masterclass led by Dr Ivan Urošević will explore the journey of Serbian rakija, from its status as a national heritage product to a spirit with growing international potential.
<h2>Food Vision: Gastronomy Live</h2>
Food Vision, an integral part of the fair dedicated to gastronomy and hospitality, features masterclasses, live culinary demonstrations, competitions and the Gastro Theatre, where restaurants and hotels prepare dishes in front of an audience.
As part of Food Vision, Belgrade is hosting the Southern European semi-final of the international Global Chefs Challenge competition, as well as the Open Balkan Culinary Challenge, where young and promising chefs will demonstrate their knowledge, technical skills and creativity.<div class="article-photo"><img src="https://en-api.pks.rs/storage/assets/IMG-7692a05577e087ede977e070b6dd6241-V.jpg" id="image-tag-1791663274246" data-image-alignment="article-photo" data-image-size-id="original" data-asset-id="2440"></div>
Guests include Swedish chef Jimmy Eriksson, recipient of a special award at Bocuse d’Or 2023, and Darren Liew, chef-patron of London restaurant Nanyang Blossom.
The programme also brings together professionals from the hospitality, hotel and food industries, connecting local ingredients with contemporary culinary techniques.
Wine Vision by Open Balkan is being held at the Belgrade Fair until 12 October. The fair is open to visitors daily from noon to 8 p.m. The full programme is available on the official Wine Vision website.
Wine Vision holds UFI Approved Event status, awarded by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. At its previous edition, the fair brought together 535 exhibitors from 34 countries and professional visitors from 68 countries.

The Fifth Wine Vision by Open Balkan Opens: One Place. The Whole World.

Twenty Serbian companies from various sectors, ranging from construction and infrastructure to the IT industry, presented their business potential and plans for entering the French market to representatives of Business France, France’s leading agency for supporting the development of international business, which opened its office in Belgrade last night. The opening of the office confirms the French business community’s interest in intensifying cooperation with Serbia and the Western Balkans region, strengthening business ties, and developing new partnerships and investment projects.Mihailo Vesović, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) for International Cooperation, announced that a strategic cooperation agreement between the CCIS and Business France would be signed at the French Senate on 30 November, laying the foundations for a long-term partnership aimed at further strengthening the economic relations between the two countries.“This will establish a framework for a long-term partnership focused on further strengthening economic relations between Serbia and France,” Vesović emphasised.He pointed to positive trends in the economic relations between the two countries, noting that bilateral foreign trade is expected to reach approximately EUR 2.5 billion by the end of the year. He added that the implementation of major strategic projects is also contributing to this growth.Ivan Bošnjak, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, emphasised that, in addition to military-technical cooperation, Serbia and France are connected by significant infrastructure projects currently being implemented in Serbia.“We have major projects in the construction sector. The largest of these is the construction of the Belgrade Metro, which has just begun and represents a decades-long dream of Belgrade’s citizens. French companies are supplying the entire electromechanical system and the metro trains,” Bošnjak said.He added that there is considerable scope for cooperation in wastewater management and drinking water supply, where French companies can contribute their experience and expertise to addressing Belgrade’s wastewater treatment challenges.Didier Boulogne, Deputy CEO for Export at Business France, said that opening the agency’s office in Serbia marked an important step towards strengthening economic ties between the two countries. Business France had not previously had an office in Serbia, and the new Belgrade office, staffed by a three-member team, will support the development of business relations and facilitate connections between companies.“We believe there is significant potential for Serbian companies to invest in France, as well as to further develop their business operations in Serbia. Numerous projects and investments lie ahead, and our aim is to enable French companies to participate in them in partnership with Serbian businesses. ​Companies from Serbia and Business France Representatives Discuss Business Cooperation

Ahead of a roundtable dedicated to strengthening cooperation between Serbian and French companies, organised by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) in partnership with Business France, the French national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, SCC President Marko Čadež met with the agency’s Director General, Louis Margueritte, and French Ambassador Florence Ferrari to discuss opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was held at the French Embassy in Belgrade.
The discussions focused on connecting the two countries’ technology sectors, organising a business forum during EXPO 2027, and support from Business France for the participation of French companies in GITEX AI Belgrade, a technology and innovation exhibition taking place from 25 to 27 May 2027 during EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
Margueritte emphasised that the opening of Business France’s Western Balkans office in Belgrade sends a clear signal of strengthening economic relations between Serbia and France. He invited a Serbian business delegation to participate in a business forum scheduled to take place at the French Senate in late November and proposed signing a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions.
The SCC President highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership between the SCC and Business France, which would create new opportunities for market access, knowledge exchange and business networking. The shared goal is to translate the increasingly strong relations between Serbia and France into new contracts, investments and long-term economic cooperation.
Further opportunities for cooperation with Business France include the joint organisation of targeted visits by French buyers to Serbian companies (“buyer missions”). The SCC designs these visits to meet the needs of potential partners, with the aim of connecting domestic producers with international supply chains.

Technological Cooperation and EXPO 2027 at the Centre of Talks Between the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Business France

Representatives of Serbian companies from the metal, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and veterinary sectors met at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Omar Amgar to discuss opportunities for concretizing and further enhancing business cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting provided an opportunity for companies that already do business with Morocco, as well as those considering entering the Moroccan market, to present their interests, questions and challenges, and to learn directly about business and investment opportunities in Morocco.<div class="article-photo"><img src="https://en-api.pks.rs/storage/assets/DSC06044.jpg" id="image-tag-1791537868500" data-image-alignment="article-photo" data-image-size-id="original" data-asset-id="2436"></div>
Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia Mihailo Vesović said that there is an interest in further institutionalizing cooperation between the two business communities and focusing it on concrete business opportunities.
“We are ready to hold a Business Council meeting, and we also want a formal meeting of the Business Council to take place. There is significant interest among small companies as well, particularly suppliers. Our strategy is to identify the key interests and bring in large companies that could later include smaller companies as suppliers,” Vesović said.
He pointed out that strengthening direct contacts between businesspeople and improving connections between companies could open up opportunities for new forms of cooperation, as well as for the inclusion of smaller Serbian companies in supply chains.
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco Omar Amgar said that one of the priorities of his mission in Serbia is to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries and explore their potential for stronger economic ties.
“My mission is to strengthen the friendly ties and the advantages that exist between our two countries and to explore their potential from an economic perspective. Presenting Morocco’s economic potential, the Ambassador stressed that the country is committed to an open and entrepreneurial economy, with a legal framework that supports investment and business development. He particularly highlighted Morocco’s geographical position, which represents an important advantage for accessing European, African and other global markets.
As he noted, Morocco is only 13 kilometres from Spain and has well-developed transport and logistics links, while free trade agreements with the European Union, the United States and African countries further expand opportunities for companies operating from this market.
The Ambassador also presented measures undertaken by Morocco to encourage investment, including the Investment Charter adopted in 2022, as well as financial incentives for the development of specific regions and sectors.
Particular attention was paid to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the chambers of commerce of Serbia and Morocco, which provides a basis for further connecting the two business communities and organizing joint activities.
“The Memorandum signed by the chambers of commerce should be used to strengthen cooperation and business visits. I want us to make our cooperation more concrete, because we have shared potential and a common interest in cooperation,” Amgar said.
Next year will mark 70 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Morocco, which, as noted, presents an additional opportunity to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries through more intensive economic cooperation.

​Serbian Companies Interested in Expanding Business into the Moroccan Market

Air Serbia has established a strategic partnership with GITEX AI Belgrade, connecting its international network with the global reach of one of the world’s largest platforms for artificial intelligence and technology. The partnership aims to strengthen international connectivity and facilitate access to Southeast Europe’s growing technology ecosystem.

GITEX AI, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and organized by inD, is the official technology and business event taking place as part of the Specialized Expo 2027.
