International companies and scientific and educational institutions from 11 countries, including India, Malaysia, Spain expressed interest in partnering with Serbian institutions and companies, whose innovations contribute to improving the learning and contemporary skills of pupils and students.
Ilhami Sisnelioglu, a presentative of international company "K12net", which develops education software, says that they are looking for partners in Serbia and want cooperation with schools and universities in Serbia. Jesmond Friggieri, a founder and CEO of Malta Leadership Institute (MLI), invited Serbian faculties to contact his institute. "We intend to grow, and one of the ways is cooperation in the field of international student exchange, as well as joint projects and research activities," said Friggieri.
Representatives of domestic faculties and institutes say that they have made excellent contacts at the World Exhibition Fair and that they expect the first contracts and projects with international partners soon.
"We expect cooperation with foreign partners that we invited to join our projects and activities regarding international cooperation in the field of education, Ph.D., Master's, and undergraduate studies," said Srdjan Tomić, Vice Dean for teaching at the Faculty of Engineering Management in Belgrade. He adds that the faculty representatives had numerous meetings in the previous days at the Expo with colleagues from Colombia, Jamaica, and Malaysia.
Aleksandar Sedmak from the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, says that the Center has made significant contacts with representatives of the Diaspora in the UAE, as well as international institutions. As he points out, Expo is a great opportunity for Serbian companies to present themselves because the “American dream now lives in Dubai”.
Ana Stojanovic, Head of the Department for Dual Education and Education Policies at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia pointed out that the Serbian delegation at the 4th thematic week "Knowledge and Learning", which ends on December 18th, presented modern projects, software solutions, study programs, innovative teaching materials and opportunities that Serbia offers to companies and universities around the world in the field of education and science.
„Representatives of state and private companies, universities, institutes, as well as science and technology parks and organizations from our country had the opportunity to present themselves to guests of the Serbian Pavilion and meet in B2B meetings the scientists and business people from India, Malaysia, Spain, Croatia, and agree on future cooperation, "said Stojanović.
Representatives of 60 companies, universities, science and technology parks, and institutes from Serbia and more than 40 representatives of companies and universities from 11 countries participating in Expo 2020 Dubai participated in the B2B talks.
Tomorrow, the delegation from Serbia will visit the largest academic center in Dubai "Dubai International Academic City", the house of key global educational institutions with more than 500 different educational programs.
