At the today’s session of the General Assembly of Eurochambres, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Marko Čadež, was elected for the fourth time a Member of the Board of Directors of the largest European business association, which represents 20 million companies and gathers 45 national and 1,700 regional and local chambers.

“The new leadership of Eurochambres, led by President Luc Frieden from the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce, who was elected today, will be faced with the most difficult task since the outbreak of pandemic – to unite the European business community, and in direct communication with Brussels institution initiate policy and regulatory changes and adoption of measures that would enable the EU to offer, as soon as possible, a response to the real threat to productivity and competitiveness of the economy caused by the energy crisis and growth of raw materials on the world market. The Eurochambres also faces the challenge of supporting the member companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, as strongly as possible, through the chamber network, to adapt to the new circumstances as quickly as possible. Even greater is my personal responsibility as a member of the top management of the Eurochambres, Co-chair of the Common Market Committee and Chairman of the Digital Network," said Marko Čadež, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the joint Regional Chamber of the Western Balkans.

According to Čadež,  who represents the Western Balkan economies and chambers of other non-EU countries in the Board of Directors, the fourth term is not just another recognition for his personal contribution and contribution of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia to the work of Eurochambres but, at this moment, it is especially important for the entire Western Balkans Region.

“We have been given the opportunity to complete a great job during this term, started in the past period, to implement the initiatives of the European Commission, which we insisted on in the past, with the great support of the European economy, Eurochambres and the President Christoph Leitl.  To enable the region's economy to do business with the European Union with fewer obstacles and costs, and to ensure inclusive enlargement, so that our businesspeople, even before full membership, receive the same treatment as EU companies, in areas where we meet European standards, harmonize rules and establish sustainable institutions ", pointed out Čadež.
