Čadež: Serbia and Belgrade are Ready to Host the Organization of Expo 2027, Give Young People a Chance for the Future!

Serbia and Belgrade are ready to be good hosts to the organization of the World Exhibition Expo 2027 with the great support of the business community that brings together about a million domestic and foreign companies operating in our country and region, said Marko Čadež, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Paris. At the 170th General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Čadež, as a member of the Serbian delegation, presented Belgrade's candidacy for the EXPO 2027 organization.

In CCIS President’s words, modern Serbia today is a country of talents, innovative and creative people, and young people who learn the languages of the future with the potential to be leaders and successful entrepreneurs.

"These days, the second generation of students will graduate from 8-grade primary school, who, along with other subjects, also had mandatory programming. Together with those who finished primary school last year, we now officially have 120,000 digitally literate children who are playing Python, Scratch, Pay game…. They learned to program, thus programming their success and their future. "I invite you to give a chance to these young people in 2027 to play together for entrepreneurship and for the future," said the president of the CCIS...

He points out that Serbia has other achievements to be proud of when it comes to other prominent sectors as well. " When, In the time of the energy crisis that the world is facing today, you think about the potentials of producing electricity from renewable sources, from wind energy, do you know that every third wind generator built into European windmills, is produced in Serbia," said  Čadež. He added that every third raspberry in the markets around the world, and every second in Europe, is produced and harvested in Serbia. Also, in London's Canary Wharf business district, smart, solar benches are a product of the expertise of Serbian startup company Strawberry energy. "

Serbia and Belgrade are becoming a new European technological hub in the field of mobility, and the future of the European automotive industry, which focuses on electric cars, is being created in our country too - In R&D centers of European manufacturers that apart from production factories are opening their development centers in Serbia, such as ZTF, Continental, Brose, relying on the intellect and expertise of the local engineers and world-renowned IT experts.

The President of CCIS also reminded about the two billion euros of exports of the ICT sector, which attracted 600 percent more investments than in 2020. "Our gaming industry is following in the footsteps of the world industry and is very well known." "Last year alone, Serbian IT creators launched 35 video games," he said.

"We come from the fastest-growing region on the continent, one of the most desirable European destinations for investors. " The day after tomorrow, I will attend the signing of the franchise agreement between Accor hotel chain and one of the most beautiful spa centers in the region," announced Čadež.

In his opinion, all these advantages are a sufficient and strong reason for Serbia to play for the future as the organizer of Expo 2027.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, the Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, and Tatjana Matić, the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, who is participating in the assembly in Paris, spoke about the advantages and possibilities of Serbia as a candidate in a video address.

The status of the candidate of Serbia and Belgrade for the organization of the world exhibition EXPO 2027 was confirmed by the recent submission of the Candidacy Dossier to the representatives of BIE.
