The European Union must at this moment take an active role and guarantee the implementation of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in a sustainable and predictable way because this is most important for the business community of the region, Marko Čadež, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia pointed out today in Brussels where he met with Lulzim Rafuna, the president of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and the president of Western Balkans Chamber Investment Forum ( WB CIF)  and where he spoke, on behalf of the business community of the region, with Oliver Varḫelji, the Commissioner for the Enlargement of the European Union.

"It is very important that today, my colleague Rafuna, the president of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, and I talked with the Commissioner for Enlargement about what is happening right now and how much it can endanger everything in the region. This is no longer a matter of discussing investments because if this continues, we can only discuss how we will shut everything down, since this is a really difficult time for the business community, both for foreign and domestic companies," said Čadež.
The President of the CCIS pointed out that for the business communities of the region, it is important that European Union takes a very clear stand and says that this kind of communication must stop and that it is the politicians who must stick to the rules and what was agreed upon.
"And that is crucial. I'm afraid that we won't be able to hold on like this for much longer," said Čadež.
In a conversation with the European Union Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varḫelji, Čadež and Rafuna mentioned that at this moment Europe should take an active role and guarantee that all agreed is implemented, sustainable and predictable.
"For the business community, this is the most important thing," said the president of the CCIS.
Rafuna pointed out that the meeting with Commissioner Varḫelji was a good opportunity to show that companies have a need for cooperation with the European Union and that they want to make the best use of the advantages of doing business in the EU market.
"We received the full and very positive support of the commissioner, which will mean not only to the chambers of commerce of the Western Balkans but also to the private sector so that all the signed agreements are fully implemented and the private sector realizes the greatest benefit," said Rafuna.
