Association of Forestry, Wood Processing, Furniture and Paper Industries

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Forestry, wood processing, furniture and paper industries was around 825.5 million EUR in 2024, which is the 1.2% of total GVA of the country and 1.0% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, nearly 279.5 million EUR created by manufacture of paper products (33.9%) and 225.6 million EUR by manufacture of furniture (27.3%). The other two activities have a similar contribution, by around 20%. From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of forestry, wood processing, furniture and paper industries in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia shows slightly decreasing trend.

Export of forestry, wood processing, furniture and paper industries in 2025 amounted to 1.9 billion EUR which is the 5.7% of total export and export of these products are higher than previous year (by 7.3%). This industry is hiring 52.3 thousand of workers (2.3% of total employment) while the most are employed in manufacture of furniture (21.5 thousand) and manufacture of wood products (15.1 thousand). In forestry, wood processing, furniture and paper industries in 2025 was operating 3.1 thousand of active companies and 9.3 thousand of entrepreneurs which is in total 12.4 thousand.
