Association of Electronic Communications and Information Society

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Electronic communications and information society was 7.5 billion EUR in 2024, which is the 10.6% of total GVA of the country and 9.0% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, around 4.7 billion EUR created by computer programming, consultancy and related activities (61.8%) and around 1.5 billion EUR by telecommunications (20.1%). From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of electronic communications and information society in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia showed a growing trend.

Export of these goods in 2025 amounted to 794.8 million EUR, which is the 2.4% of total export. Export of these products are much higher compared with the previous year, by 17.1%. Also, export of these services in 2025 was closed to 4.6 billion EUR which is the 30.0% of total services export. This sector of economy is hiring 138.1 thousand of workers (6.0% of total employment) while the most are employed in computer programming, consultancy and related activities (70.7 thousand) and postal and courier activities (18.8 thousand). In electronic communications and information society in 2025 was operating 8.8 thousand of active companies and 31.7 thousand entrepreneurs which is in total around 40.5 thousand.
