Association of Transport

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Transport sector was around 2.9 billion EUR in 2024, which is the 4.1% of total GVA of the country and 3.5% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, around 1.8 billion EUR created by land transport and transport via pipelines (61.5%) and 881.6 million EUR by warehousing and support activities for transportation (30.4%). The other activities have a negligible contribution. From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of transport in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia shows a slightly upward trend.

Export of transport services in 2025 amounted to 2.4 billion EUR which is the 15.7% of total export but export of these products is a bit higher than previous year by 1.5%. This sector is hiring 110.8 thousand of workers (4.8% of total employment) while the most are employed in land transport and transport via pipelines (80.2 thousand). In Transport activities in 2025 was operating 9.2 thousand of active companies and 32.6 thousand of entrepreneurs which is in total nearly 41.7 thousand.
