Association of Textile, Garment, Leather and Footwear Industries

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by textile industry was 515.0 million EUR in 2024, which is the 0.7% of total GVA of the country and 0.6% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, 303.0 million EUR created by manufacture of wearing apparel (58.8%) and 109.1 million EUR by manufacture of textiles (21.2%). From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of textile industry in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia shows downward trend.

Export of textile products in 2025 amounted to 1.5 billion EUR which is the 4.4% of total export which is slightly lower than previous year by 3.3%. Textile industry is hiring 49.8 thousand of workers (2.1% of total employment) while the most are employed in manufacture of wearing apparel (27.7 thousand). In textile industry in 2025 was operating 1.5 thousand of active companies and 6.1 thousand of entrepreneurs which is in total nearly 7.6 thousand.
