Association of Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Professional, scientific and technical activities was nearly 2.8 billion EUR in 2024, which is the 4.0% of total GVA of the country and 3.4% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, around 1.0 billion EUR created by activities of head offices; management consultancy activities (36.8%) and 845.5 million EUR by legal and accounting activities (29.8%). The other two activities have a lower contribution. From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of professional, scientific and technical activities in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia showed a slightly increasing trend.

Export of these services in 2025 closed to 2.6 billion EUR which is the 17.1% of total export but export of these products are a bit higher than previous year (by 6.0%). This sector of economy is hiring 90.1 thousand of workers (3.9% of total employment) while the most are employed in legal and accounting activities (35.5 thousand) and activities of head offices; management consultancy activities (30.9 thousand). In professional, scientific and technical activities in 2025 was operating 10.5 thousand of active companies and 37.4 thousand entrepreneurs which is in total around 47.9 thousand.
