Association of Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Professional, scientific and technical activities was nearly 2.5 billion EUR in 2023, which is the 3.4% of total GVA of the country and 4.0% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, around 910.0 million EUR created by activities of head offices; management consultancy activities (35.9%) and 786.0 million EUR by legal and accounting activities (31.0%). The other two activities have a lower contribution. From 2017 to 2022, GVA share of professional, scientific and technical activities in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia showed stable trend.

Export of these services in 2024 closed to 2.5 billion EUR which is the 17.0% of total export but despite of the negative effects caused by global turbulences, export of these products are a bit higher than previous year (by 2.2%). This sector of economy is hiring 87.2 thousand of workers (3.8% of total employment) while the most are employed in legal and accounting activities (35.9 thousand) and activities of head offices; management consultancy activities (28.4 thousand). In professional, scientific and technical activities in 2024 was operating 10.6 thousand of active companies and 33.9 thousand entrepreneurs which is in total around 44.5 thousand.
