Association of Private Security and other Service Activities
The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Private security and other service activities was around 10.9 billion EUR in 2024, which is the 15.4% of total GVA of the country and 13.1% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, nearly 3.8 billion EUR created by public administration and defence, compulsory social security (34.7%) and 3.0 billion EUR by education (27.4%). The other activities have a lower contribution. From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of private security and other service activities in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia shows stable trend.
Export of these services in 2025 amounted to 292.8 million EUR which is the 1.9% of total export but export of these services are lower than previous year (by 1.0%). This sector of economy is hiring 541.7 thousand of workers (23.4% of total employment) while the most are employed in public administration and defence (156.2 thousand) and education (151.9 thousand). In private security and other service activities in 2025 was operating 11.5 thousand of active companies and 57.1 thousand entrepreneurs which is in total around 68.5 thousand.
