Association of Construction Industry

The total gross value added (GVA) generated by Construction industry was 6.1 billion EUR in 2024, which is the 8.6% of total GVA of the country and 7.3% of Serbia’s GDP. Observed by activities, around 1.5 billion EUR created by civil engineering (25.2%), 1.4 billion EUR by specialised construction activities (23.4%) and 1.4 billion EUR by architectural and engineeting activities (23.9%). From 2020 to 2024, GVA share of construction industry in total GVA and GDP of the Republic of Serbia shows stable trend.

Export of these goods in 2025 amounted to 392.6 million EUR which is the 1.2% of total export and export of these products has increased comparing to previous year, by 10.8%. Also, export of these services in 2025 amounted to 306.6 million EUR which is the 2.0% of total services export. This sector of economy is hiring 179.0 thousand of workers (7.7% of total employment) while the most are employed in specialised construction activities (65.7 thousand) and architectural and engineering activities (35.3 thousand). In construction industry in 2025 was operating 19.0 thousand of active companies and 57.8 thousand entrepreneurs which is in total around 76.8 thousand.
