Free Zones

Free zones provide special benefits for companies to run a business in Serbia. More than 200 companies operate in 15 free trade zones. Doing business within the free zones ensures many advantages starting from duty free import of raw materials and equipment, preferential tax regime (VAT exemption for using energy) with limitless import and export. The companies running a business within the free zones can lease business offices, workshops and storages under favourable conditions. The turnover realized within the free zones amounted to 5.0 billion EUR in 2021. The Financial Times has marked free zone Pirot from Serbia as the best one in the region in 2017 and 2018.
